New Adventure Island is a side-scrolling platform game by Hudson Soft originally released in 1992. The original Adventure Island was developed by Westone and was a port of the Sega game "Wonder Boy". Since Hudson Acquired the rights directly, they were able to build upon the franchise by developing future games in-house.
